Crash scenes look too intense for kids and darker and depressing themes seem too intense for even a pg rating.
Plus sausage party was a hit with an r rating so this inspires disney and pixar to take risks, if not an r rating, with a pg 13 rating.
How To Train Your Dragon 2 got away with PG with quite a bit violence and death. Not to mention Toy Story 3 is rated G. Pretty sure this will be rated PG but no way PG-13. If any Pixar film was going to be PG-13 it would be Incredibles 2 and thats still unlikely
