A Different World Reference

How many kids do they think would get the reference? Kadeem Hardison (Craig) and guest star Jasmine Guy (Erica) were on the late 80's/early 90's sitcom for the entire run, which is why she said recognized him, perhaps from a different world, but I'm sure it went over the heads of many of the people watching.

This was an okay episode though. A good twist with that side really being evil, but not entirely unexpected.

I think when they make references like that it is to appeal to the parents. Helps to make it more enjoyable for those that watch with their kids ?.

I am pretty sure Disney KNOWS that adults watch Disney too.

They are marketing geniuses. And here's what they know via marketing ...

Kids are 5 - 12, or 5 - 17 depending on who you ask. That's a maximum of 12 years an individual is a kid.

Adults are 18 - 99 which is a maximum of 81 years of an individual.

Adults are the ones who have more money and actually BUY stuff.

With this information in mind, they know it is a good idea to cater to adults.

They put that joke there for adults. YOU WATCHED IT, didn't you? So there you go, adults DO watch it.

They made another reference to the show in a different episode. They all had fake names. KC looked at her new name and asked something like, "What kind of name is Rocky Blue?" And then Craig was like, "Well, that's better than Dwayne Wayne." I thought it was hilarious. My neices of course didn't get it and they looked at me wondering why I thought it was so funny.
