I apologize if this sounds inappropriate, but I've been wondering about his health for a while. I was wondering if he had some time of oral cancer in the right side of his jaw. He seems to now speak in a gravelly, slurred voice and his one side of his face seems droopy.
shareI wouldn't worry about it being insensitive, but it's nice of you to be considerate. On his imdb message board, somebody wrote that he had/has throat and neck cancer. He is slurring a bit, but I'm happy to see that his mind still seems pretty spry.

shareActually, he was cast, more, because he is credited with being one of the creators of the ORIGINAL "The Odd Couple" series for TV. So the tie in is logical.
He's slurring because there's some paralysis on the left side of his face as a result of surgery from throat cancer (I think when he was 76 or 77.) He's 81 now.
