I have to say, hanging around with a crowd of assholes that includes a murderer would really get on my nerves after a while, the urge to get away from them would become overwhelming!
And if you try to stick with the crowd, there's always the danger that you'll be left one-on-one with someone who might be the murderer. And if an attempt is made on your life the group will not protect you, because they are, after all, a bunch of assholes.
I can see your point...but after almost everyone's been killed when they're off alone...it's probably not wise. This one guy got into an argument with the other guests and huffed off, saying "I'll be in my room!" And I thought, "Yeah...dead!"
