Lifetime version VS. Blu-ray
Has someone seen the released version of this, and if you have, what are the differences between the lifetime TV version and the Blu-ray? Thanks in advance.

shareI didn't see it on lefetime-but the Blue ray has the show as it aired on the BBC which was 3 1 hour parts. I read somewhere they did edit out a little bit for the lifetime airing-but on disc it comes unedited.

While the blue-ray version I've seen shows mire stuff than the Lifetime version, it too is edited. For example, when General Macarthur walks out to the beach, it shows him glance down towards his feet and then quickly cuts to Vera packing in her room. You do NOT see him hear Leslie's voice read out the love letter she wrote to Richmond, nor do you see him imagine blood bathing over his feet. (This scene is crucial because it helps explain WHY Macarthur accepts death so readily.) After the scene with Vera in her room, we later see Lombard talk to Macarthur as he comes in. We do NOT see Blore and Lommard talk as they go down the stairs, with Blore dismissing the idea of investigating Lombard over what happened in Africa because he doesn't care about "darkies."
Those scenes ARE in the digital version that is available on Amazon.com's web site. I think they may have been cut to make room for either the coda at the end ("Next time on "And Then There Were None"...) or the Acorn promos at the beginning of the disc.
I think those scenes that is on Amazon digital are deleted scenes cut from the original BBC broadcasts. They were provided by the BBC for the digital version on Amazon. Regardless, the ones on the Blu ray are the same as it aired on the BBC.

Yeah, the Blu-Ray version is how it was originally aired on BBC. Lifetime edited for time and content, notably the heavier swearing. I highly recommend the Blu-Ray, the quality of audio and picture is really crisp and perfect.
shareI've seen both and the biggest edit was the beginning. Lifetime started with the recording of the record. The original (blu-ray) started with more about Vera.
