Book or Play?

Does this end like the original novel or does it have the sappy play ending the movies always copy? Or a mixture?

reply

Ends like the novel, except that the final couple does sleep together at one point, a coarser version of the "let's get married" ending of the play

There are other differences between the book and this production, but the ending of both are essentially the same. One thing I should clarify is...

...because this movie truly shows how cold-blooded Vera Claythorne is regarding Cyril's murder, I had absolutely NO sympathy for her. Some sympathy for Philip (notwithstanding his crime) and also for "Tubbs" (especially with that last speech he makes at the end), and a LOT of sympathy for Ethel Rogers who despite what the killer may think did not deserve to be on the island. But Vera Claythorne? Absolutely none.
