SYTYCD alumni cast in 2020 West Side Story

Jess LoProtto as a Jet (My absolute favorite of all SYTYCD seasons. Jess has made a career on Broadway)

I was very upset to hear there will be a remake of this classic film. Now....not so much. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this remake. The dancers I named above (in case you don't watch SYTYCD) are fantastic dancers. I surely hope the choreography will be Jazz as in the original film. I can not imagine the choreo leaning towards Hip Hop and has been mentioned on this forum. That just will not fly with me!!!

BTW......SYTYCD is "So You Think You Can Dance" which airs on Fox

To be honest, I've seen some of the dancing, the photographs, and heard the rendition of the musical score, as well as the background scenery, as well as the colors and the costumes, and I feel that it's too bombastic for my tastes, and way overdone.

The Jets and Sharks and their girls, in Spielberg's upcoming reboot/remake of West Side Story look far more like a bunch of suburban prep school kids dressed to the nines for partying all over town than two street gangs at war with each other, and the neighborhood looks far too toney and not gritty enough, as it did in the original 1961 film version of West Side Story.

The Jets, the Sharks, their girls, and Ofcr Krupke and Lt. Schrank in the original 1961 film acted and looked much rougher and tougher than the people in Spielberg's upcoming reboot/remake of the film West Side Story.
