There are FOURTEEN Oz books with so many great and strange characters, but Hollywood keeps re-imagining the first book and ignoring the rich mythology already in the series. The rightful ruler of Oz is the girl queen Ozma, but Return to Oz was the only movie to touch upon that.

There needs to be someone who loves all the books to be willing to put up the money. And likely on a Cable Network like HBO or AMC. NBC does not have a good track record with these.
