They need some new people hired in those studios. Because the people who are there now, all they are coming up with is rehashes of old movies already done already 2 times already. How many times are we going to visit Oz. I've counted at least 15 times since the original Judy Garland version.
Hollyweird is dead as far as I'm concerned. They don't even care that they're bastardizing the classics in order to inject their Politically Correct and liberal spin on them.
Sharia is a Muslim thing. Can you show me any Christian nation anywhere in the world where people have as few rights and as little hope as they do under Muslim rule where sharia has been instituted?
People in the U.S. used to be able to get good medical care and didn't even need insurance to pay for it. Medical costs were reasonable back then. The only reason people struggle now if they don't have insurance is because the government stuck its nose into wages. And back when you-know-who was running around screaming about how urgent it was that she rewrite the nation's laws so she could fine and punish everyone who was too poor to afford her health insurance plan, most people in the U.S. were content with their doctors, their medical care, and their insurance plans. Then we got a great big fat legislative medical insurance crisis shoved down our throats that penalizes citizens who don't want to participate in it because it was written by and for insurance companies!
Yay for all those rights and hope that the socialists/communists keep claiming they give while they take it all away!

Yeah let's go back to a time where slavery was ok, no woman's rights, the homosexual community was shunned.
I wish something could be done. Very sad. Trouble is, those watching this stuff don't see a problem. They are complacent with whatever is spoon fed to them.
There is apparently SOME interest in this or it wouldn't have happened. I'm still not understanding WHO wanted to watch this, or wished it into existance?
There are thousands of ORIGINAL ideas out there getting bypassed for reboots like these. People are happier in a little comfy rutt of a life I guess.
I liked the musical "Wicked," (I've never read the book it was based on) but that was doing something new and somewhat original with the story. I don't get that feeling from the commercial/trailer that I saw for this series. This looks like someone put "The Wizard of Oz" and "Game of Thrones" in a blender.
"Forget reality, give me a picture"-Remington Steele
Yes. The musical Wicked was something all together new and improved and I enjoyed that. But everything else that has come on television and in the movies in the last couple of years. BLAH!!!!!
What's wrong is political science majors are being awarded positions and jobs in hollywood that would normally go to artists with talent and creativity. Sadly, we live in an era where another renaissance is inevitable with all the cultural repression as a result of modern day feminism and its refusal to accept it's ideals of gender superiority are no longer relevant in a modern world.
Why are there so many stupid comments on this thread? Are you people for real??
The main character in The Wizard of Oz is a female. Always has been. Apparently some people have a problem with that. I guess a show where a woman is the main character is a problem??
Where are you people getting that political science majors are working in Hollywood?? From a two minute trailer??
I really can't be bothered with all the BS comments I have had to wade through. If this show isn't your cup of tea and you prefer Keeping Up With The Kardashians or Real Housewives of wherever, that's fine but stop trolling on this board if you won't even give this show a chance.
You’re boring... I’m tired of reading the same anti-sequel/reboot complaints. Here’s a simple solution: just don’t watch! The world doesn’t revolve around you. Move along.

BECAUSE sequel/repukes etc keep taking up space and time, there are less GOOD things to see. We need to STOP supporting these, to get some quality originality back in there.
It's not a simple solution of just ignoring it, that is not fighting back. EVERYONE needs to getting brain dead, step up and help the change.
There are literally hundreds of movies and TV shows that come on throughout the year in theaters, network, cable, or streaming TV. I also ENJOY sequels/reboots, so your demand for original programming is not what everybody wants... you also can’t judge the quality of a show you haven’t seen yet, douchebag 🙄 Go watch what you want and get over yourself.

ONE LIFE, FOR THE LIVES OF MANY. - January 26th, 2017
Thank you for bringing to my attention that I am a "douchbag". After looking the term up, I find I am "an obnoxious and contemptable person" for voicing a perspective on the internet. This I was unaware of and shall try to do my best to become a better person. I could not see this in myslef.
Happily, while I voice my perspectives online, I find myself not calling other people names. That is wrong, correct? It is proper to attempt to belittle and degrade strangers online with name calling whilst replying with opinions, perspectives and obbservations? I shall extend to do better at that in the future, thanks to your showing me the proper ways.
Like I always say, "Everyone is entitled to like and enjoy whatever they like in life and movies." I don't recalling telling anyone they are not allowed to have personal tastes in things. My remarks and perspectives were aimed at this thread about what the hell is wrong with Hollywood and their persistance to keep repeating instead of growing and presenting new, interesting titles. Many people are not stuck in a comfor zone rut in life, and enjoy new things. Others prefer to go around and around the same stuff over and over and over. Their choice.
So, Harvesterqueen, I humbly apologize to you as a fellow human for somehow offending your fragile, millenial ego, and by not calling you names where you would expect it. In the future, I will do so, if that pleases you.
Honestly. Why are people so fkin dumb now? Are there THAT MANY cousins breeding? Are they growing up on "reality TV" making the masses so freaking stupid? The same thing that is happening to humanity, is the exact same thing that makes them proud to accept sub par entertainment and believe it is amazeballs - or whatever moronic, fleek terminology they created due to their lack of real vergage skills.
Enjoy your dogpile entertainment. The smart people will be avoiding it.
First you said that everyone needed to stop getting braindead and stop supporting all of the reboots and sequels. Then you turn around and claim that you never told anyone they weren't "allowed to have personal tastes in things." and that it's their choice.
Make up your mind.
And for someone who criticizes someone else's "vergage skills" [sic], you are in serious need of an editor.

The Judy Garland version wasn't even the original (it was jsut the most famous). I think there were three versions prior to that one. But still valid point. The only way they're going to stop making these remakes and re-imaginings is if people stop watching them. I for one am going to stay far away from this tripe.
There were versions even BEFORE the Judy Garland version that went back three decades to the early 1900s! This story has been done to THE SECOND DEATH and just needs to stop. The last take of the story we got was TIN MAN on Sci-Fi and that was the dark, edgy version of the story so this right here is nothing different. I'd like to see a MALE version of the story where we got a farm boy instead of a girl and the wizard is a woman so she's a witch and we have four wizards/warlocks of oz, like a gender reversal basically. Now THAT is something fresh I'll be willing to see.
Changing the sexes sounds like a cheap gimmick that wouldn't really bring anything of note to the work. If swapping the sexes of the characters is the only idea you have for changing it up, I wouldn't bother.
Just because someone else has done a dark, edgy reimagining of The Wizard of Oz before doesn't mean that this one can't be different. It might even be superior.
If you're not interested, that's fine, but I wish you would quit judging the show before you've even seen it.

Um, it's more creative than keeping it the same "Kansas girl and pretty pig tails" and plus there will obviously be some significant changes besides changing the genders. The wizard (or witch in this case) can be real, one of the wizards melt by FIRE rather than water or some other way, the boy can have something else other than a dog. Come on now.

It can be, but I don't like the fact that they're making it seem like this is the first time it's been done and it's not. Plus, there's more changes they could have done to bring it away from the typical Oz material. It stands off as a Tin Man ripoff so far given the style and tone alone.
If you're not interested, that's fine, but I wish you would quit judging the show before you've even seen it.
I can judge whatever I want to and have made a reasonable argument for my case, so if you don't like it then I suggest you get out of my threads and keep it moving.

have you seen westworld?? it was already adapted into a movie in the 70's but it turned out to be one of the best tv series this season..if its done right its not always a bad thing to remake something and put a new spin on it.
