It will be bad won't it?

I saw a trailer a little while ago but it was removed from YouTube. The dialogue was bad saying things like, "we will turn Your emerald city red with blood!!" They aren't showing the trailer anywhere and timeless had trailers months before the premiere!

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. Gotham was a popular prequel to Batman. Smallville was a popular kinda prequel for Superman and Superboy. other prequels were bad. I think we should check out the first few episodes

reply

This isn't a prequel. A prequel might have been a more interesting direction for this project. You could show Oz and the Emerald City before Dorothy arrived. You could show how/why the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Lion became what we saw in the original story. It could also explore the background of Wizard. This series is a retelling of the original story.

Ha Ha! I'm watching it now, about 2/3 through. It sucks, but I sort of want to keep watching. I don't want to give a final judgment, yet. Also, I sometimes like bad TV shows. I'm not that artistic, I guess.

"Modern re-imagining" is code for "unoriginal feminist re-framing"
Yes, it's going to be awful. Like the way all feminist 'modern re-imagining' works are completely unoriginal sexist filth, reviving old dead hatreds and bigotry with a dress on.
In other words: ghost busters flop 2.0

reply

L.Frank Baum was a feminist. I think this current trailer looks really good.

oh my..someone needs to see the wizard to get a sense of humour

To me, "modern re-imagning" is more like "I've got a story idea that's too weak to stand on its own, but maybe if I dress it up with the names of a familiar setting and characters, I might be able to cash in on that writer's success".

full of pointless changes like south to north, even:
"Glinda, also known as the Good Witch of the South, is a fictional character in the Land of Oz created by American author L. Frank Baum. She is the most powerful sorceress of Oz, ruler of the Quadling Country south of the Emerald City, and protector of Princess Ozma." --wikipedia
