This episode sucks!!
Alright, I loved the first episode, but this one...ugh!
Margaret Hamilton's wicked witch would wipe these people out in a second!

Series sucks so far.
I'm done with it.
Thank god most if my favourite TV shows are back on.
This one was just a fill in.
Emerald City is not the type of show to be viewed week-to-week.
It was made for binge-watching.
Hate-watching says more about the viewer than it does about the show.
Why??
shareThey probably think the show either moves too slow to keep someone's interest week to week (binge watching means you get to the compelling stuff quicker and thus stick around rather than drift off after 2 weeks of minimal plot advancement), or they think the show is too non-mainstream to hook people on premise alone (binging means the on-the-fence viewer will get attached to characters quicker because they could watch 4 in one go etc).
Just a guess, though, they can correct me if I'm wrong.
I enjoyed it. Tip's struggle to deal with her new reality is probably the most dramatically compelling, and I understand that her life is totally upended but I found her treatment of her only friend Jack unreasonable (and I am not even referring to their last scene). I still think the wizard is miscast but the new council member is making him a bit more interesting, although I don't see how she leapt so quickly to all of her conclusions. We now know that Dorothy can do magic but how is that possible if she is an Interloper? There is enough going on to keep me entertained.
shareI have read all of the Oz books, and if you wanna see a more true reflection of modern society, read them. They are over 100 years old, and are better than this crap.
La la land is scooping up awards everywhere, and if you wanna see something that is a good update of something old (old Hollywood musicals) see that.
Emerald city's changes such as making all the working women in oz and apparently Ev too prostitutes are going to kill it. And killing the trans characters only friend was awful.

I've heard that he becomes the tin man, but that their tin man behaves more like a cyberman.
shareI have heard that as well.
shareCyberman from Doctor Who?
shareI really don't see any similarities between Emerald City's Tin Man and a Cyberman. Jack's still Jack, he isn't consumed by some hive directive, and he doesn't have a mask or even suggestive look of a Cyberman either.
Emerald City's Tin Man is indeed a man/machine fusion rather than an animated solid metal man, but he looks and most certainly behaves nothing like a Cyberman.
thankfully last night's episode #4 was very good!
