The characters (possible spoilers if you know nothing of the books)

Ok so they’re switching things up a little with some of the characters of the books and how they may appear. So far one’s I’ve noticed are:

**Updated Theories:

Lucas = Scarecrow [amnesiac mystery man, possible guard who went against the Wizard's orders?]
**Is it possible Lucas turns out to be the 'Lion'? If he was guard with lions head helm and was then called cowardly for disobeying orders which resulted in him being punished severely? It would explain why that sword was left on ground where he was left too.

Tip = Ozma [true ruler of Oz disguised as a young boy by way of magic potion]

Eamonn = Cowardly Lion ?? [Guard sent to search out what came through the twister. With that mane of hair, It’ll be him. Some sort of special soldier with lion helm??]
**I'm having second thoughts on this theory. It might not be him after all.

Ojo and tribe = Munchkins [dang, no lollypop guild here I guess]

Just wondering when we’ll meet up with:

??? = Tin Man [possibly one of the machines the Wizard uses like flying monkey drone or most likely a cyborg character like in quick clip from trailer?]

OK so after episode 3, I'm thinking Tin Man could end up being Jack. He could have been altered by one of the steampunkish Ev doctors. Drastic measures to save his life after being shoved off the balcony and falling all that way down to the ground.

Dorothy's mother was in Oz at one time according to East Witch's guard. He called her the interloper or something like that. So she may not be a witch of OZ exiled or escaped to our world after Beast Forever attack, but Dorothy could have ties to someone with magic from OZ if her father was from there. The Wizard himself? Or long shot, the Beast Forever (if it's some sort of title for other wizard?) The Wizard could have sent Dorothy's pregnant mother far away to keep Dorothy safe.

Yep, I agree totally. Makes sense. I think it's a very unique take. I want to see where they're going with these conversions.

Yeah, Lucas is definitely scarecrow. Hanging on a pole like the classic scarecrows, plus empty head.

I had forgotten about Ozma's origin in the book, but you are so right. Tip will most definitely be Ozma.

Add Mombi is the witch who took Ozma, the daughter of the king of Oz and turned her into a boy (Tip).

A re-telling based on Baum's books. Think of the potential that can be done with that since previous projects only covered up to the first three books and the original movie only covered the first book.

Jack is Jack Pumpkinhead, Tip's childhood magically made friend.

Also, in the books Lady Ev could change her head which changed her personality. In the show, she just wears different masks.

One thing I forgot to point out is that Tip also doesn't remember her past life before she was turned into a boy. Could it be the same reason Lucas doesn't remember his past?

Plus, in the books Dorothy does go back and forth at times between Oz and her life in Kansas as well. Think of the potential that has for new stories.

She was a baby at the time so that may be why.
