Where have all the flowers gone

I have heard that touching song covered many times, but I was disappointed that this version chose to leave out the part: where have all the graveyards gone... gone to flowers every one" which makes the ironic point of the song and closes the cycle so impactfully. This version went from soldiers" gone to graveyards every one" back to "where have all the flowers gone" -- leaving out the key message of the song, the endless sad circle. Annoyed me.

I didn't notice that but it was a great song placed in the perfect place for the movie. Maybe they left that out on purpose as it did not seem filled with hope. ?

Nevertheless, the closing scene was great.

pmalt: I noticed that too. Was disappointed. Why, as you say, bother with the song then if you are not going to "close the circle"?

As a Vietnam vet, I can tell you that the circle doesn't close. Being fertilizer for flowers is not a start; it is the end. The song took poetic license; the movie took poetic license with the song.
