Why get involved??
I sure wouldn't put my life at risk to help someone get away from a murderer.

shareYou don't have to run down there and get in the middle of it. Just call the cops.
"It's as much fun to scare as to be scared" -- Vincent Price
how is calling the police putting your life on the line? are you an idiot?
shareAny able-bodied adult could have intervened and probably stopped it. Even unarmed, with enough shouting and arm-waving, the attacker might have been scared off. Moseley was just one small-built man with a knife.. he wasn't Jason from Friday the 13th, or the entire Manson family.
shareMany bystanders to violent crimes are similarly callous, and don't want to "get involved." The 911 system was developed to help those who can't be bothered to do the right thing, to do right thing. It began to be phased in during the late 1960s, partly as a result of Kitty Genovese's murder.

It is your duty as a civilised human being.
You'd want someone to help you, your mother, your sister, your daughter, your son, etc.
So you do it for another.
In this case you wouldn't even know a murder is happening, even if you'd had a clear sight you'd see a thin small man bother a woman, you'd see no knife, no blood.
Anyone should at the VERY least open a window and shout.
Anyone with even some guts would run outside and get involved.
Nobody is asking you to throw yourself between her and the knife, nobody expects you to disarm the guy and arrest him.
But you're supposed to do something.
I'm a woman, not strong, not trained.
I've always stepped in when I felt someone was in danger even when I knew it was dangerous and I might get shot or stabbed.
Id I can do that, you can open a bloody window and shout, you can run outside and start shouting at the guy.
If you can't do that you're a selfish coward.
If you can do that but you won't, you're filth.
Its situations like this that so many people support the second amendment. The murderer was a tiny slip of a guy with a knife. All those windows were close. He could have been stopped without having the leave the apartment........... JStop the jerk and call the cops. ....ust saying.
shareThat's the problem with the world. Lack of empathy for others. If it was your loved one being attacked you'd want someone to pick up the phone and call the police.
