Louisa's Advice (Season 2 Finale SPOILERS)

Louisa told Rafael to let Jane go. She assured him that he would someday feel the same way about someone else by relating his story to hers: Louisa thought she'd never love again after Rose, but then felt the same way about Susanna. However, now we know that Susanna was really Rose all along. Is this them telling us that Rafael will never love anyone but Jane? I think yes.

Please don't feed the trolls.

I don't think so. I think you're reading too much into things.

I'm guessing he'll end up with Petra. She's a much better person now, flawed but fairly reformed just like him.

I, also think he'll end up with Petra. They're friends. They're totally alike. They both belong in the business world - they thrive on it. The show tried to show us Rafael doing down to earth stuff in Jane's world, but I didn't really buy it. I don't think Jane the Virgin would have had Petra ALSO become Rafael's baby mama if they didn't want to tie them together as strongly as he's tied to Jane. I think Rafael is more confident and relaxed with Petra, and the writers have done episodes showing that off, such as when they had to babysit the rock star's dog, and both competed and worked together. They have an entertaining dynamic. I think/hope Rafael is going to be devastated when he finds out what Aneska did to Petra. They've also changed Petra from a manipulative femme fatale to a guarded woman with a decent heart and a terrible mother.

Agree. What does rafael have in common with jane? It feels like nothing to me.

He's such a better match with Petra and jane is better with Michael.

But opposites attract! I always thought Jane and Rafael had great chemistry together. I thought their differences made their relationship interesting, she made him try to be a better person and he pushed her to be less safe and to follow her writing dreams. I think Jane is just playing it safe with Michael and I'm sorry but I just don't get what possible story they could tell with them as a couple that would be remotely interesting - especially given the style and genre of the show. Jane and Rafael felt more like fate. They have really had to change both Petra and Michael in season 2 to make them remotely plausable options for Jane and Rafael - and none of the changes were logical.

Even if Jane stays with Michael - the very idea of Rafael ending up back with Petra is stupid. I don't care how nice they make her or how much they try to make me feel sorry for her, there are just some things that you can't come back from;
1. She lied to him their entire marriage about who she was.
2. She cheated on him with his best friend.
3. Unfroze his sperm without telling him in order to keep him trapped in a marriage he was clearly unhappy in.
4. Falsely accused him of beating her in order to extort money.
5. Tried to get his Dad to fire him.
6. Stole his sperm, yet again, a used it - again to trap him/ trick him into loving her again - taking away the possibility to have children with a woman he may be in love with in the future.

I don't care how nice they try to make Petra, the idea of getting Rafael and Petra back together will be nothing more than lazy writing.

Thanks for an excellent recap of Petra's crimes. I don't think Rafael should end up with her. He can forgive her but romantic love seems to be logically off the table. It will always seem strange to me that in S1 Rafael was Jane's telenovela love with so many magic moments and then suddenly Michael was her telenovela love. I think the show would have been more successful if Rafael and Jane had remained the central couple. Even Rogelio's bromance with Michael is unrealistic as fathers are rarely that comfortable with the man pawing their daughter.

I hope so!
