Why is Petra paralyzed?
What is Aneskas plan? How does she hide her accent so easily and mimic petras perfectly? What is this part of the st Ray? I just don't get it at all. That part of the episode confused me

shareI think that her Petra accent may be her natural accent and she faked the Czech one. She might've lived in the US for just as long as Petra. She could've been adopted by an American family.
shareWe haven't been told the plan, and we're not expected to know it yet. We just know that it's about Anezka pretending to be Petra. It's very likely Magda will want Anezka to use Petra's position at the top of the Marbella hierarchy to execute criminal activity.
The paralyzed stuff makes me uncomfortable - too much like ALS.
What is ALS?
share"Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), sometimes called Lou Gehrig's disease, is a rapidly progressive, invariably fatal neurological disease that attacks the nerve cells (neurons) responsible for controlling voluntary muscles (muscle action we are able to control, such as those in the arms, legs, and face)."
Patients become prisoners in their own body, just like Petra. Not all at once, but pretty rapidly - over a year. They deteriorate and then die. Their brains are still fine though, which is why it's so horrifying. Remember two years ago - the ALS bucket challenge? People would dump ice water on their head to raise money for ALS? Anyway, I know two people who ultimately died from it and it's terrifying. It starts out like this vague soap opera disease where the person seems a little drunk, out of it or slow - everything is delayed and a bit vague. It slows down to where they can't even control holding their head up, and then they are flat on a bed and can't move at all, but they can see and hear, like Petra, and they can think, like Petra.
