i'm sorry but IMO just about everything about the video game scenes are awful. i DO like Miko but in the finale tonight, just when things are getting kind of interesting with Malina using her powers to stop the flare thing, it cuts back to lame ass video game battles with Miko and Kellog's Tony the Tiger's weirdo cousin.
Did they ever explain or sort of label Otomo's powers ? He could transport people into a video game (or perhaps any world of his imagination? Could he put people into books and films, if he made one?) and he could create constructs like Katana Girl. I can't think of what to call that except "reality manipulation" (but a lot of characters' powers fall under that heading).
I also thought that Katana Girl's arc might have more impact. Might mean more to the three she left behind. But Otomo feels nothing for her (perhaps because he viewed her as just a tool, a means to an end), Ren lets go much easier than you would've expected him to, and Miko seemingly never finds out about her. Even if it would've been a bit too magical for this series, maybe Katana Girl's memories merging with Miko's ?
Constructs were rampant in this season, what with Erica's lackey who could endlessly clone himself.i
Kris, i totally thought that Katana Girl's memories (especially her time with Ren and falling in love with him) would be transferred to real girl Miko's!
Hachiro can transform matter into data and transport it into electronic devices by touching his subject and an electronic device. He was able to trap Hiro Nakamura in Evernow this way (June 13th, Part One) and later traps Tommy Clark in the same place using a phone though he later seems to have to transfer Tommy into Evernow from the phone rather than transporting him directly there as he did Hiro. (Company Woman) Hachiro can also do the reverse and bring data such as computer programs to life as constructs such as the one of his daughter and one of himself. (June 13th, Part Two, 11:53 to Odessa) Harris Prime indicated that Hachiro has created many such constructs with his ability when questioning the Miko construct and suggests she's simply his best one yet. (Under the Mask)
I was describing it months ago as "VR5", a series where the protagonist was able to enter virtual reality and occasionally affect this one. Now that we've seen him do more, I would call it "electronic digitization and transference", being able to transfer real world people/objects into the digital realm and also pull digital creations into this one, giving them a brief "life".
essentially, he's able to create a holodeck entity/item, or put you into one.
