Carlos' purpose

I wonder what he'll end up fulfilling by the end of this show because none of the promo shots feature him in sight for the finale as if he's not playing any major part in saving the world or he surprises us. The plot says he "takes a chance", but whatever it is it had better be significant to the plot because I'm tired of him being present in the story just for romantic purposes between him and Farah. He should at least save one of the heroes to help them fulfill their destiny or at least kill Erica.

I've had the feeling for a LONG while that this was meant to be Sylar's role, but with Quinto refusing to return (aside from Trek fiming same time), they rewrote it for a new character. Hell, they even teased he was a mechanical genius/lo-rent Stark by rebuilding his car AND creating his armor in ONE night, but have completely ignored that since.

I speculate that Carlos in his exoskeleton will take out Phoebe when she is doing her worst on those evo's trying to help prevent calamity.

That's interesting. Do we know for sure that Phoebe's power is restricted completely to evos? I guess it's implied by Sylar 2.0 using his gun last episode.

Well I'm disappointed to say Carlos served no purpose in the major story. He stays stuck at the hospital and misses out on all the action, saving people injured by the storms yes, but nothing much else.

The writers wrote a lot better ending for Carlos. So I'm not embarassed by my far-off speculation. :-)

...so hopefully the actor gets better gigs after this. Or if he's not the strongest actor, then he should just go back to starring in more dance flicks (he's the lead in the last two or three Step Up films, I believe).

Kris_AB, Ryan Guzman (Carlos) did co-star in the "runaway hit movie" JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS where he plays the love interest of...Jem (i'm assuming). :)

and by "runaway hit movie", you mean everyone wants to RUN FAR AWAY, then hit everyone involved in the production of that "movie" to make the pain stop.

I have a feeling if Reborn had received a second season, he basically would have been a bit like Batman and Iron Man; a human with no extraordinary abilities interacting with superpowers.

He even got his own Robin and Batgirl at the end.
