The direction they could have used -

After Claire jumps, the mayhem that follows leads to Noah, Angela and Hiro to agree for Hiro to go back in time and teleport Claire away before she decides to climb the ferris wheel. Though Hero explains to Claire why he did it, she is still so angry at her father for continuing to interfere with her life that she runs away.

Heroes Reborn takes place years later with Noah still not having seen Claire. Other major characters like Peter have moved away to work in anonymity at another hospital. Sylar, who had a turn for the good towards the show's first conclusion, has moved on, no longer a threat, at least currently.

What happens after this, I don't know. I just wish the writers went in a different direction than "humans vs evos."
