Thoughts on killing off Noah Bennet?

I was disappointed that they killed him because he was the reason why I watched it, even the original series as bad as season 2, 3 & were, he kept my interest & Jack Coleman made the character believeable.

If Netflix picks up Heroes Reborn for a season 2 it won't be the same without him.

i felt nothing about Noah's death. it probably would have had more emotional heft if he hadn't just vanished for the past 3 or 4(?) eps. what the hell was that all about? did Coleman have another project going on during the filming of HEROES REBORN?

reply

Tbh, I thought his death had more of an impact when he was shot in the eye by Mohinder in the original series.

Yes, yes, and yes! That scene was so unexpected for me (even though we saw the painting). The way it went down definitely was more impactful.

It was dumb as *beep* why not just use Quintin, since he was allready there.

Cause they needed him to give that stupid speech to the ATF agents.

reply

Yeah kind of weird that he died.... I mean the series surely won't come back again, but if it did..... they just lost probably one of their best actors lol. But just seemed really weird, like there was no build up to it and for something like this to happen, there should at least be a good explanation as to why they choose him to be the conduit.

The actor was desperate to get away from this bomb and suicide was his only remaining option.

If at first you don't succeed, keep trying til you find someone to blame.

reply

at least he gets onscreen closure, unlike Matt, who gets a facebook post.

Whether we like it or not, using Noah as the conduit was explained when he and Pan (Tommy) were in the dark room watching the twins interaction as children. Tommy explained he had attempted to save the world with his sister numerous (hundreds, thousands, millions?) times and none of them worked, because of the whole "butterfly" effect. He finally chose Noah because in reality he died that day the car struck him and so to keep things from going wrong he was used as the conduit, knowing it would kill him. Noah understood and sacrificed himself.

That's silly. Like he couldn't have found any of the other multitudes of people who were "about to die" and take them right before it happened. He's a time traveler, so he could literally pop in on ANYONE'S moment of death for that matter, so why pick Noah?
