Not much action here on this FOTB board ....
I was just going to mention that after a certain amount of time I am getting a bit bugged by the negative stereotypes of Americans. They talk about American's divorce rate, but they don't mention domestic violence or other negatives about real Asians, they keep it light and kind of fake.
That's OK, in that one thinks they are gaining insight into the Asian culture or character, but I don't think so. Also, what is up with the love everything black. I don't mean that in a negative way, but Eddie loves Rap music and Jessica loves Denzel Washington. In reality Asians are very prejudiced against blacks, or anyone else for that matter.
The most racist monolithic societies on Earth are China and Japan. Say what you will about Russia, but they have all kinds of ethnic groups even more than the US and they seem to get along fairly well, though of course there is still racism.
I like this show though because it does not make one think and consider things, in a comedic way, and it is funny and cute.
We are watching this one Hulu and I think we are well into season 3. What is see lately is the two little boys who were so cute and getting mean and cynical too. I wonder if writing for an Asian daughter is just too complex for them because it brings up too many stereotypes that are not as humorously handled?
Anyway, I wonder if other people watch this show and what they think of it.
