Seems like it was cancelled in enough time for them to film an actual ending to the show.

Sometimes TV studios will go with a "safe" method in case the show does not get picked up, that closes out the stories. Perhaps they did it with Selfie.

I hope the show ends with Eliza and Henry getting together as a couple,

I think we might. The relationship between Eliza and Henry is the only real story going throughout. That is progressing quick now with them both realizing their feeling and Eliza even professing them. Henry just needs to come around in the next 3 episodes.
