I wasn't even going to watch this show when I first saw it advertised because that name is such a turn off.And I love Harold and Kumar. Nothing else was on so I decided to watch it and it was an interesting show.

Yes, the name was pretty misleading.
They wanted to use a "hip" trending kind of buzz word, but that word doesn't capture the premise of the show very much.

It's rare that a pilot is fantastic. The sets can be different and often the actors aren't even sure what the creators want from them regarding the character roles.
I agree that the pilot was rather weak, but this show did pick up fairly quickly. Part of the issue was that the concept really wasn't designed well for a multi-season story.
