season 1 episode 11 there is no way that eliza and her boyfriend would..

have ever heard of boxing helena... its an obscure movie to start with and eliza has shown time and time again that she doesnt seem to know anything about anything made before the 2000's

that just seemed odd

anyone else think that? or did anyone else not even get the reference (its when they are in the bed together at the end)

As odd as referring to "Season 1" knowing full well that the show was cancelled by the time episode 11 appeared?

How is that an odd reference? The show was still in production on the first season, even though ABC decided to cancel. That doesn't mean that subsequent episodes wouldn't be part of the first season. A cancellation doesn't negate the entirety of the show.

I think his point was that that adding 'season 1' was superfluous was there was only going to be one season.

Your point on Boxing Helena is quite valid and I didn't think of that at the time. But the joke was pretty funny so I'm happy letting it slide.

and now in episode 12 she referenced rosemarys baby

I'm a decade older than the character and only know of the movie by name. I have no idea who's in it, or what it's about. I know I've seen Rosemary's Baby as a kid, but know that most of the time when it's referenced, its just because they're saying that the child in question is very bad or that the father of the child is evil.

There's plenty of referencing that is only meant to make a point without even expereincing the source material.
