The Pilot Episode

I think the pilot episode really hurt this series. I remember watching a sneak preview and hating it. Even advise my friends not to "waste their time".I decided to give it another try 3 episodes in and really liked it. I think a better pilot episode (and different name) could of helped this show. At least a little.

I loved the pilot episode. Watched it several times, as a matter if fact. Didn't care for the changes they made to the pilot that aired, though.

What are the differences to the pilot versus the broadcast version?

TRUE BLOOD*NURSE JACKIE*TWIN PEAKS*COUGAR TOWN*BATES MOTEL*BREAKING BAD*AHS*HAPPY ENDINGS*HANNIBAL

Mostly the ending. The house looks different, they showed more glass. And they end up sitting on the porch talking instead of her pushing him into the rain. The lines were similar though, and it ends with her taking a selfie of them together.

Yes, the ending was better originally. The scene before that one where she sees/talks to Charmonique was different as well and, again, better in the original. The character of Ethan was almost completely cut out causing a great scene of Henry's to be edited out. In it, he goes on a rant about social media that was funny and gave the viewer more insight into his character. The lighting also seemed darker in the aired version but I guess I could have watched both on different tvs and just don't remember.

Where did you guys watch the "original" pilot? More importantly, where can I watch it?

reply

I watched it on Comcast On Demand. They put it up a few weeks before the network premiere. I think others watched it online early.

I'm not sure where you can watch it now. I'll look around for it when I have a chance. Might be easier to find the scenes themselves rather than than the full episode.

I have to agree that the pilot was rather weak in comparison to the other episodes of the series.

Pilots usually are though, and I'm glad I kept watching.

reply

I disagree.
