Ending fits with the work its based on

The show is based on Pygmalion and My Fair Lady and if I've researched correctly, the ending of Selfie fits with the ending of those as well. They both hinted at a romance between Eliza Doolittle and Henry Higgins, but it was never shown.

Yes, but since this was a re-telling of that story they could have modified the ending. Since the show was cancelled, I'm surprised they didn't close up the story like that.

I agree. In My Fair Lady she doesn't end up with Freddy. Eliza and Henry argue and then Henry realizes that he loves her. The last scene in the film is the two of them together in Henry's house after Eliza goes back to him. Selfie ended with Henry realizing that he cares a great deal for Eliza. I love him telling those teenage boys that he'll be ready the next time. For me, it meant they would be together eventually.

Well, Selfie's ending is better than that of the original original, that of GB Shaw's Pygmalion, that My Fair Lady was based on. That was a real downer. According to Shaw's sequel to the play, Eliza wouldn't marry Henry, she wouldn't put up with his neglect and bad treatment (that's a good thing, of course) but she ended up stubbornly insisting on marrying Freddy, and because he didn't have/couldn't get a job, she set up her own flower shop and supported him for the rest of his life...not so upbeat.

I will certainly miss Selfie...

It's interesting... But Eliza is also in a happy relationship with her boyfriend. So I don't know if they are meant to be together eventually... Because she finally feels comfortable in her own skin and with where she is in life at the moment

I doubt the show would've ended that way if it had continued.
