Wasn't impressed by the trailer...

Made the film seem very cliched and predictable. Should I still go and see it?

reply

I felt the EXACT same way about the trailer...uncanny. However after seeing it(more than once) I believe it is a special film. The best film of 2016. PLEASE go see it...now!

Seeing that this film has an astonishing 97 % rating on Rotten Tomato's

And is also praised in almost every Newspaper Review or website review in the UK, US, AU , and IE that you can find,
Hell , legendary musicians like Sting and Bono praised the film and it got a standing ovation at Sundance Film festival. A quite discerning crowd no doubt too.

See it in the theater if you can before it is gone. Its best on a big screen due to all the touching moments with subtle facial expressions of the young actors that you may miss on your 55 inch flat screen.

IE: the moment Connor says we " need to form a band".

I have not seen the trailer so I can't speak to it, but I have seen the film and it is the best film I've seen so far this year. Yes you should see it, especially if you're in any way involved in the arts and especially music. It will truly speak to you then.

I agree. The trailer isn't very good. But you should absolutely see the movie. It's my favorite of the year.
