I love everything Irish...

Wonderful movie, the best music, great characters! What a great feel good movie. I'm so biased toward anything with an Irish theme and Sing Street was just so likeable and watchable loved it loved it!

In the 90s the Irish film scene had its peak IMO, see also Commitments, My Left Foot, Into The West, In The Name of the Father,The Snapper, The Field, Waking Ned, Some Mother's Son, The Butcher Boy, Angelas Ashes, Adam & Paul, Michael Collins, The Playboys, Hidden Agenda, A Man of No Importance, War of the Buttons, Dancing at Lunasa .... recommended all, a great decade for Irish film.

Thank you, I have seen many of the films on your list, some I will definately search for! I did read the book Angelas Ashes many years ago I remember it was a brilliant and sorrowful story! I must rewatch the Comittments I haven't seen that since it was released at the Movies.
Again thanks, Cheers!

Two other great Irish films! The Quiet Man and last year's Brooklyn. :D

I absolutely loved Brooklyn, and the scene at the old builders dinner when the singing started I was so emotional for the Irish men who built the cities but were broke and destitute! I will look for the other one you suggested, thanks.

When Brendan Met Trudy!! A small film that in addition to being a sly comedy, is full of homages to famous films in the past...Not to be missed!! Although you'll have to travel to Youtube to check out the trailer. It's worth the trip! Cheers...

The quiet man is not an Irish film

I'd also recommend I Went Down. It's a very good Irish comedy.

From 2016 The Young Offenders was very funny.

You're missing another great performance by Daniel Day-Lewis, The Boxer with Emily Watson, the sweet little gem of a movie called, The Secret of Roan Inish and The Crying Game. And although these were released in the 2000's I loved the Irish musical Once, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, The Magdalene Sisters, In Bruges, Calvary and like Intermission with Colin Farrell and Cillian Murphy. All good movies I'd rate 3 to 4 stars.

I agree, good or great films all :-)

The Quiet Man was set in Ireland, but was it an Irish movie?

Time to brush up on your reading comprehension skills as, in the initial post the OP wrote, "Irish themed movies." I am confident most reasonable people as well as cinephiles would concur that The Quiet Man fits that definition.

What a dick response. You suck.

Thank's for your clever, thoughtful response.

your comment doesn't make any sense... The quiet man is absolutely vilified by Irish people based on the ignorant stereotyping. Universally ridiculed by most too.
