Are there any fans of Dexter that didn't recognize Joey Quinn and knew the face was familiar but didn't know it was Joey till they looked him up?

shareI knew it was him but he's looking like he's sickly to me. I even thought he started to look sickly on Dexter. He seems sooo thin. He is in a movie called Ghost Ship and he looks much healthier. Maybe he went vegan or something.
shareWhen he was younger, he had a really cute/handsome baby face and, as he's aged, he lost weight and it's just really pronounced in his face especially...so he just looks very thin and it kind of emphasizes that he's definitely not young or baby faced anymore. Sometimes he can look really great (like the last episode) because it's a perfect jawline, really...but other times he just looks super, super skinny. I'm used to it at this point and think he's a super handsome guy.
shareI've read through some more posts and apparently he chose to lose weight. He said he changed his diet and began exercising. I'm all for living a healthy lifestyle but I don't know why he thought he needed to lose weight. I always thought he looked fine as he was! Maybe add some muscle. I could see that but I just don't think he needed to lose weight. It just worries me that he thought that was necessary. It seems to be a popular thing in Hollywood. Some people lose weight and I think to myself, 'but u looked great and healthy before!' I know going vegan is popular too, so that could be part of the losing weight bit. It he chose a vegan diet, then I can see the loss of weight in muscle mass. That can happen on that kind of diet.
shareThere was a Dexter podcast interview with him a few years back and he was very adamant that he wasn't doing drugs and he wasn't sick, but he just started running a lot and changed his diet. It's possible that he wasn't happy with the way he looked in the first couple Dexter seasons, where he was a little larger (for him) and I guess the producers "suggested" to him that he could lose a little weight. But he probably became fixated on never looking like that again and got a bit obsessive, because sometimes I look at him and think he's gone just a little too far. He was such a gorgeous guy- and he still is SO handsome to me- but I can't deny that he looks a little too skinny at times.
shareThat's good to know, because my first time seeing his new "lean & mean" look was during an episode of Gossip Girl that had his character's casual drug use devolve into using meth and attempting rape. I tried to shake it off as artistic license, but it was tough.
