I don't see how the fact that Native Americans were exterminated or the Ku Klux Klan committed lynchings makes what Hitler did to the Jews any less horrific. I can understand that the Treaty of Versailles pushed Germany into defending its people in other countries however it doesn't excuse the Holocaust!

It's that there was no definitive systematic plan to kill Jewish people as nazi policy. Not to say that in pockets this type of thing happened but the truth of the matter has been deliberately obfuscated.

I agree that what we see generally is not balanced - Hitler did do some good things for his country but it just can't excuse some of his other actions. Even if I accept everything this documentary tells me as the truth, why should a heroic person who wants the best for his country lock away children as prisoners just because they're Jewish? I know other countries do the same but other countries aren't being heralded as heroic.. There is never any excuse for locking innocent children away like this. I wish this documentary had been more balanced because it's certainly an interesting subject to shed some actual light on but the way it was made just makes it easily dismissable and laughable because it's so far towards Hitler worshipping that it cannot be believed. I actually expected to see a heart symbol around Hitlers photo at the end when the song 'Behind Blue Eyes' started.. Ridiculous!

However considering every other film/book/show/ magazine etc always covers the opposite view maybe this was called for in a sense.
It was certainly refreshing to get a new perspective.
What troubles me about WW2 is trying to get to the truth about things. For everything I research I find stories telling the opposite. Take Germany invading Poland for example. Some will say the accepted version of naked Nazi aggression but others say it was due to to the massacres of Danzig.
Was this a pretext Hitler pounced upon, did he really want war? I have found contrary reports about this and just about everything else.

I agree that it's a balance to most of what we read in the history books but I would prefer something I could actually trust rather than just a film of different propaganda.. I am sure that some of what is said is true but it's too hard to believe any of it with the way the film is made

I've read interviews with the film maker, it was an open forum on Reddit, he, seemed genuine enough.

I'd also like to know just how much is true and how much is propaganda. It's going to be a lengthy study. There's certainly more than meets the eye about Hitler, revisionism and so fourth but people tend to label all sorts rather than just engage in a discussion.

I'm sure he honestly believed everything he put in the film.. I don't think he was deliberately lying but I find it hard to believe that the holocaust is entirely a myth... I don't think we will ever know because he found people who lived there who said they had cinemas and swimming pools (although my assumption would be that they were not for the use of prisoners but for officers and their families)..

There were many holocausts throughout the war years. In Russia, Japan, Germany. Only one seems to be used in such a propagandised way. Only one is illegal to dispute, in many countries. Only one is a political bludgeon.
There were cinemas, dentistry and even a brothel in Aushwitz.
Nonetheless it was still a brutal slave labour camp, murderously so, but not to the extent we've been led to believe. The gas chambers have been the subject of a most rigorous debate. In another camp - Dachau - I think (not sure spelling) pro hands pictures showed a door to a delousing room, deliberately misrepresenting it as a murder chamber. Other such lies have been exposed. These thing contribute to people wanting to look deeper. Revisionists are demonised, jailed and ruined, but they aren't just lunatics.
The conditions of all the camps worsened towards the end of the war. The original plan was to deport the Jews to Madagascar or Israel. Communism strongly linked with certain Jews was a massive threat from the East. There was a declaration of war from Judea on Germany, a boycott of all German goods. I think Hitker wanted to remove them with as little fuss as possible. These plans changed. I think there were terrible crimes aganst humanity committed along the way, no question of that, but the truth has been warped.
Why did Hitler want rid of the Jews? Most people never consider this question preferring to think of him as a mad man devil incarnate. There was obviously more to it than that.
It's just difficult to get to the truth. Anything I've said is only what I've researched, someone may come along and prove me wrong, but I'm only telling you what I believe to be the truth.
I don't think the film maker would got to the effort to make a documentary and fill it with lies, it would just be ridiculed to easily. I've not had time to research it all and see if it's all true.

You will understand why he hated jews if you read mein kampf. I dont accpet his views about jews, but looking at how history has been fabricated i thoroughly pissed. Look around how muslims are being treated after 9/11!! Now consider the communist uprising that killed germanys chances in ww1. Obviously this was where everything started. Hitler blamed jews for making deals with british for israel in return. He wanted them out just before ww2 either to madagascar or palestine. But palestine being under british, britishers did not accept to escalate the war. Recently british govt revealed all the peace requests it received from hitler when declared war on them. This distortion of history is not acceptable.
