Ahhh the Late August Action-Flick-Sequel-That-Nobody-Asked For

Will join the likes of Expendables 2 & 3, Hitman 2 and Transporter Refueled. Don't get me wrong; I'm gonna see it. I will support any action film that doesn't contain a Marvel or DC character. And Tommy Lee Jones is awesome.

USA Today had an article on just this topic today. They mentioned how the studio likely lost millions on the first film they did back in 2011. However, the film was a huge hit on home video, bringing in tens of millions. This part of the article is important to remember, not only for this film, but films similar to it:

"When you drill deeper into the numbers and tally the additional revenues, it becomes clear that the Jason Statham business is a great business to be in," says Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for comScore.

Lionsgate loves doing films with Statham, and according to the numbers(at the box office and home video), the fans love him too.

I really enjoyed the film. To be fair I also love cheesy action films, and Statham knows how to deliver those.

You're never going to get any truth from us(the media). We'll tell you anything you want to hear.

Awww didn't mummy buy you any action figures growing up? Or you just preferred to play with barbie dolls instead?

You're a bright one. Anyone who is tired/bored of comic books films now simply must have played with Barbies as a child. That is the only explanation. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that audiences have been bombarded with them for the last decade, and select audience members grow tired of seeing slightly different variations on the same old plot, endless CGI and destruction, etc.

And, this is why they make them... You say that nobody asked for it, but that you'll support any action film without a comic book character. As long as these movies make money, they will continue to get made...

What's going on? What's all this shouting? We'll have no trouble here...

should just be called "disposable entertainment product".

So, you didn't enjoy it?
