Give Mechanic 3 A Chance

Was I the only one who enjoyed this movie? I liked it a lot. An underrated summer gem.

Look, no one is expecting Jason Statham action flicks to be Oscar winners. But I love them for what they are. You can leave your brain at the door for an hour forty and just enjoy Statham doing his own stunts, kicking ass and saying one-liners that are badass, corny or both. It had been awhile since Statham had a movie like this, and I very much enjoyed it

Apparently this made a killing overseas. I hope they'll give Arthur Bishop another go at it

What's surprising is that this movie is just a few million shy of becoming his highest grossing solo movie ever. Sure it's got nothing on the ensemble movies he's been a part of (Furious 7/Spy/Italian Job/Expendables franchise)....but $100+ million is a pretty good take for being just him.

[Never trust anyone that posts on only one IMDB board.]

I believe this and Transporter 3 are the two solo Statham $100 million movies. Sadly, it looks like The Transporter has moved on without him (ugh) but I'd love to see him start a bit of a franchise with The Mechanic

I thought it was a blast. Just pure entertainment. Statham kicked ass as usual, and the movie actually had a couple of really nice set pieces (loved the old nuclear base). Would love to see a vengeful Tommy Lee Jones return for a Mechanic 3. And like, say, Vin Diesel's Riddick, I like how we don't know a whole lot about our main protagonist in Arthur Bishop. We're slowly learning a little bit more about him as the series goes. Adds a cool heir of mystery to this guy that I think helps keep the audience engaged and begging for more. Anyways, had a great time in the theater. #2 made a heck of a lot more money than #1 with the same budget. Here's to hoping there's a third.
