I was hoping to see him in the recent trailers but nothing except that character picture that was release a while back anything on him yet?

So far nothing. The only thing they showed is Maui and Moana at the gate to the realm of monsters which Tamatoa may lurk.

Oh so there is an actual conflict in this?

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

That is because he is not the main villain and only appears for a short time.
