Live Action Disney

With the announcement of so many beloved (and classic and perfect) Disney movies getting a live action remake (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Lion King, Mulan), should we expect the current iteration of Disney movies (Tangled, Frozen, Zootopia, Moana) to suffer the same fate in 20 years?

In addition, should (could?) Disney have skipped this one altogether and just made it live action? I haven't seen it yet, but the two main leads basically look exactly like their characters and Maui seems to have Dwayne's personality anyway. In the way Aladdin may not work because how do you find someone to replace Robin Williams, in 20 years how will Disney find someone to replace Dwayne Johnson?

Since a lot of Disney's live action movies are either sequels or remakes (or questionable choices like John Carter or the Lone Ranger), it might have been nice for them to have an original, high quality, live action movie. After Zootopia and Finding Dory being successful and having come out this year, another animated movie this year wasn't needed. Also, if I'm not mistaken, wasn't this the same weekend The Good Dinosaur bombed in last year?

Live action moana would be great.

I don't know. I think this live action adaption trend that Disney has going is getting really superfluous and unoriginal. If Disney wants to really impress me with a live action adaption, then they should do a Gargoyles movie already.

Animation and live action are different enough, even when the story is the same, that I want both versions. I also enjoy going to see different productions of classic plays. Each director/producer/writer adds their own twist to the stories by how their myriad choices. I love the variety.

I actually believe that movies like Frozen and Tangled will be remade in 20+ years. The live action remakes are good (for the most part) but I think Moana needs to be animated to be sellable as an original movie. Also, I'm 99% certain that Moana will make more than Good Dinosaur. It has much more going for it.

"Suffer for the same fate"? I have quite enjoyed the remakes, and am very excited to see Beauty and the Beast.

And Moana comes from WDAS. While the same company, it's a different studio than ones that handle the live action movies. So WDAS created Moana, so it will be animated.
