I kind of feel like, and I might be wrong, that this movie will end up like Cars-the movie won't be quite as successful as a lot of other Disney's movies but it will sell A LOT of merchandise, unlike Disney's other non-Frozen movies.

I think merchandising has nothing to do with a film's quality and also shouldn't be used as a measure of it's success. That said, I think this film will do fantastically at the box office, it's a Disney musical and it has The Rock. I hope the film itself turns out great and I could care less about the product side of it.

Well...it's too early to tell. One thing we DO know is that while WDAS and Pixar have released successful. films(sans The Good Dinosaur) since Frozen, the merchandise sales have been abysmal. Illumination is leaving Disney in the dust in this respect. Stores couldn't keep Secret Life Of Pets product on the shelf this year while Finding Dory merch has been collecting dust.

Also, I do sometimes wonder why kids love these movies so much yet they don't buy the merchandise...
the problem with finding dory stuff is that its exactly like finding nemo stuff with the adding of baily hank and destiny ... there was no way they could recycle those old toys with a new tag... also I have a few of the moana toys and they are awesome.. My daughter and I played with moana almost everyday,
Most little girls will want the doll after seeing the movie... I am lucky enough to get to see it in 2 days. My daughter is looking forward to seeing it with me.
But as far as toys go in todays times.. they are so expensive for parents on limited incomes ..

Where do you get information on toy sales? I must have googled the wrong thing and only got the most general discussions about toy sales in general. Is there a place to look at hard numbers available to the public?
shareI actually don't know, I just judge these things based on what I see being sold at stores/people having.
shareYeah, I get that - I do that, myself, sometimes. I would love to see the actual figures, however, for sales or market share. My question was for Queen, who seemed to know something. 😊
