Musicals need to die

Characters singing for no reason is ridiculous and needs to stop. Singing was like the car explosions of the 1940s: something to spice up the film and draw in audiences. We've had exploding cars for several decades now and song-and-dance numbers are incredibly outdated and boring.

You are in a ridiculous minority on that opinion. Musicals are very much loved, still. Broadway rakes in hundreds of millions a year, and people have been screaming for a Wicked movie for years. And Frozen two years ago made over a billion. And Moana is on its way to an incredible total.

Or... you could just not watch this movie, and any other musical for that matter!

There! I solved your problem!

reply

Ridiculous. You have every right not to like them, but millions do. I love musicals.

You might consider why you cannot conceive that stories can be told in different ways.

I sure hope that musicals continue as the great genre that they are. But you are welcome to express your opinion!

lol at ur post, op. no offense.

Yes, Snowflake, you're absolutely right. Since you don't like musicals, they should stop making them. It doesn't matter that millions and millions of people love them. Tender, fragile little snowflakes such as yourself shouldn't have to go through the trouble of not seeing the movie!

'We've had exploding cars for several decades now and song-and-dance numbers are incredibly outdated and boring'

We've had the internet for several decades now and cross country skiing is incredibly outdated and boring.

You do realize that this is a Disney Princess movie, right?? Name one that doesn't have singing in it. If you don't like musicals, why in the heck would you go see something that you KNOW has singing in it?

You might as well walk into a horror movie and declare that ghosts are so outdated.
