I feel like it was too slapstick for me in general. That being said, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. The animation was stunning, however, the voice acting, from D. Johnson in particular was just ...okay. I knew I wasn't crazy about his voice acting from the trailers but hoped it would grow on me; it really didn't.

The songs were catchy and I can't stress enough how GORGEOUS the animation was...this film just wasn't my favorite storywise.

It will make BANK and definitely get an oscar nom, but I don't think the story is as well developed as Kubo or Zootopia (the latter still seems the best animated feature overall for me; the story, voice acting, and visuals were all so welldone and well constructed) and that's what ultimately causes me to not get 100% behind Moana.

Ps: I do find Mona to be the most gorgeous Disney princess now. That hair o_o

Examples of slapstick? None come to mind immediately.

Eh perhaps that's a poor choice of words. I guess I should say the humor didn't get me in general.
