Princess vs. Non.

I love how they address the topic. 'You wear a dress and have an animal companion, you're a princess. I love it, especially considering the debate of whether or not Mulan and Pochahantas are considered princesses or not. They're not traditional royalty, but due to their being daughters of chiefs or rulers, they're allowed to be a part of the Disney Princess core.

With this being said, being the daughter of her island's chief, she certainly belongs in the same Disney Princess offset as Mulan and Pochahantas.

Pocahontas, I can sort of accept because her dad is the chief... but Mulan neither was a princess or married into royalty. I can't stop scratching my head at that one.

Yes, I like the movie Mulan and I like the character Mulan and I'm glad Disney promotes her but Kida has a stronger claim to the throne than Mulan.
