Can we talk...

About how none of the songs were memorable...there's nothing about Moana that will make it a classic? And how as a whole it doesn't hold up to recent princess films such as Frozen, Tangled or even Brave? It's mediocre at that IMO.

Seriously? You're starting to seem like a troll. If you found nothing about the movie memorable and didn't like it, why are you hanging around on these boards?

This movie was remarkable. Great characters, great humor, great story, and AMAZING songs! I seriously don't see how these songs aren't memorable. We Know the Way is an incredible song, and when paired with the ancestors scene, it's just remarkable. Same with I Am Moana.

No I'm a big Disney fan but I call it like I see it and IMO it was lackluster..if you enjoyed it good for you...it wasn't terrible but I wasn't blown away like I was with frozen of tangled. It was so PREDICTABLE. And FYI coming on a board and having an opinion doesn't make you a 'troll' - it's called throwing out your thought and seeing people's opinion.

True, but spending time on a board and making two threads that say about the same thing when you don't even like the movie, and posting the same comments about it in multiple threads is very troll-like behavior...

cool then hey this zahpheno guy is a total idot & ignorant fool he calls tom cruise, jason statham & vin diesel one dimentional actors & says they do same type of characters the idiot never seen more of their films as i have .as for the rock this sterioed using looser is a wrestler not a actor/entertainer he will remain a wrestler.rock needs to go to a acting school first twist head & shouting n insulting others all the time is not acting.

btw the rock is remaking baywatch & jumanji lol how original is that .his fans live in denial mode .just like denial shraig aka daniel craig fan boys who thinks this jason bounre wannabe is bond lol .real bonds where sean connery, timothy dalton & pierce brosnan.

the rock aka dwyane johnson is just a tough guy wannabe he belongs to fake wwe in real life he would get killed if he talks smack to some unknown dangerous person.

i have always belived that no matter how strong you are their is always someone powerful out there who can surpass your or take you down its no shame in admitting this fact.

rock should learn to be humble & respectful.

Really? I'm the idiot? Have you ever heard of spell check? Or, you know, proper grammar? Because I don't think there's a single sentence in this post that doesn't have at least one or two errors in both spelling and grammar.

And you are also factually incorrect. I said nothing of the sort of Tom Cruise. In fact, if you would actually read, I specifically said he's a great actor. The other two are definitely terrible actors. Ask pretty much anyone. And I'm not "in denial mode", nor am I even a Rock fan. I've seen a few of his movies, and he seems like a cool guy, but I'm not a fan that watches all his movies or keeps up with his personal life. Heck, I didn't even know he got his start in wrestling until a few months ago. So the fact that there is someone out there who could take the Rock down is a reason not to like him or something? So, what, you should hate everyone? I'm pretty sure everyone can be taken down by someone...

And since when has the Rock not been humble and respectful? From what my friend says that follows his twitter page for the workout stuff he posts, he seems to be plenty humble and interacts with people all the time.

I never said I did control who or how many posts people can write. Literally, all I said is that you are STARTING to SEEM like a troll. And then explained what in your behavior made me think that. Maybe you aren't a troll. No skin off my back. Just seems like it when you hang out on a board of a movie you don't like, and post the same comments about it in multiple threads.

I had 2 post - that's not many. GET A LIFE!

Sorry! Dwayne Johnson singing was NOT PREDICTABLE!

No, because none of that is true. Okay, it isn't quite as good as Tangled or Frozen, but it's close enough. The songs were great too, it's been a week and both You're Welcome and How Far I'll Go are still in my head. I also know I'll be rocking that number from the crab monster for a while to come. Many around here have also laid out the subtle but brilliant unique traits of Moana herself so this film is definitely the total package.

"If life is getting you down and needs uplifting, then please come dance with me!"

reply

To each their own I was just disappointed. I had higher expectations.

reply

Clearly, you have not heard my 4 year old sing "You're Welcome" and "How Far I'll Go" Over.
and over.
and over.
and over.
and over.

The songs appear to be QUITE memorable for the demographic being focussed on here.
My daughter has never asked to see a movie twice in the same week, and every single night this week, she's asked to go see Moana again and told me she 'can't wait so long!' when I said we'd see it again Sunday.

reply

That's a wonderful story, footnotegirl! I hope there's a lot of other kids feeling the same way.

reply

I'll agree with you that it was predictable and follows a certain story structure. That for me is the only thing holding it back from joining the likes of Kubo and the 2 Strings and Zootopia though. I was very very entertained by everything in this movie and thought it looked beautiful, sounded beautiful, and gave me a whole new respect for the Disney musical adventure film that it seemed like they had forgotten in the late 90's. With this and Frozen, I feel that they can only get better as they go on.

Trying to create a channel based on interpreting, reviewing, and even giving you something to laugh about film. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance.
