I think he's a side villain. But gets an awesome song and scene.

shareThe Main Villain is the Lava Demon Te Ka. Tamatoa is the Secondary Antagonist, same stats as Nigel the Cockatoo in the Rio Films (though I think he was downgraded to being the Tertiary Antagonist in Rio 2).
