Can't decide if this is a flop or not

I mean, it doesn't seem to be setting the box office on fire right now. Are families having too hard a time identifying with the Polynesian characters? Unfortunate business about the name in Europe too. I guess only in Europe can a smelly Italian porn star be revered to the point of affecting a title change to a Disney movie. Yeesh.

It has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, and commercials are labeling it the #1 movie in the nation (though to be fair, that happens with every popular movie that ever comes out). Doesn't sound like a flop to me.

It's not a flop, but it's still too early to tell just how big of a hit this will be. It's had a strong domestic start but it's international numbers are surprisingly weaker than expected. It flat-out belly-flopped in the UK this weekend, for instance.

How hard is it to identify with a loving but over-protective father, loving and reasonable mother, and a free-spirited grandmother? What does them being Polynesian have to do with it in terms of relatability? Because they're not white?

Frozen, unfortunately, set the bar too high for animated films these days. it seems if an animated flick (especially Disney) can't match the box office dollars that Frozen did then it might as well be a flop. I hate Frozen, I think it was only the hit that it became from the hype that built it up.
