Moana is like a Polynesian version of Pocahontas, but without explorers

Beautiful animation of natural vistas, fearless lady with animal sidekick, elemental entity.

And there are no humans that get in the way, either as antagonists or love interests.

2 girls steering and singing on boats? Just around the Riverbend.

I noticed a lot of similarities as well, but it still didn't stop me from enjoying the movie. It was a fun watch, and that musical moment "Know who you are" when she returns the heart was chilling and touching.

But yes, Moana = Pocahontas, the grandmother = Grandmother Willow, and from TLM: the father = King Triton.

More NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind crossed with Ashitaka's Journey to the West.

Um, yeah I guess I see a bit of Pocahontas here. I think when she is singing about what lies in wait for her beyond the reef, that is very similar to the song what's around the river bend too. Moana was a great film all together.

Trying to create a channel based on interpreting, reviewing, and even giving you something to laugh about film. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance.

In other words: Because Brown

I suppose she's also just like: Nadia The Secret of Blue Water, Katara from Avatar Last Airbender, Korra from the Legend of Korra.

hmmm come to think of it they all do sort of 'control' water. Well, not Nadia

You're the only one making the "because brown" comparison.

reply

I'm saying what you people are subconsciously thinking.
That's why you're comparing them

Just a little of Pocahontas, and Hercules, Brave and Elsa of Frozen
