The chicken. What was the point?
I don't think they needed more than Moana and Maui on the boat, the chicken didn't add anything.
The pig was equally useless - that pork scene was just weird and awkward.
But they're just small complaints! I absolutely loved this movie. Listened to the soundtrack before it was released here and didn't think I'd enjoy it based on that, but the soundtrack worked so well in the actual movie.
Agreed on the pig and that scene, but the chicken was clearly there for comic relief; TBH the chicken freaking out on the open ocean was my favorite bit of the whole movie.
I actually liked that they got so much mileage out of the dopey thing and double justified its existence at the very end when it saved the heart from falling out of the canoe.
I found the chicken pretty funny. I actually didn't even remember there was a pig until you pointed it out, so I guess you're right about the pig at least being useless, ha.
