Anyone else surprised with Moana's 'son of a....' line?

Don't worry I'm not a prude just wasn't expecting that in a Disney flick

reply

They did that in Hunchback of Notre Dame too.

reply

Well, Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of the most mature and darkest Disney movies ever. I mean, it had a priest imagining himself burning in Hell because of his lust over a seductive gypsy, so...yeah.

Not a priest in the Disney version, a judge, but yeah definitely the darkest one yet. It came from pretty dark material so I guess it was harder to totally Disneyfy and they didn't have to use the story if they hadn't wanted something darker.

I was a little caught off guard as well.

Aladdin called (disguised) Jafar a "two-faced son of a jackal", or something similar so she was probably gonna end it with something simple like that.

reply

"Son of a blowfish", maybe.

reply

Somewhat, but she never finished the whole sentence.

Remember that Hunchback had Esmeralda saying the same line.

reply

Yes and I laughed along with quoting Captain America "Language!!!"!!!

reply

Not that much. Remember that "Bullsh.." line in The Good Dinosaur?

Seeing as she doesn't get to finish the line, so we never know what the "..." was meant to be, what's there be to be surprised about?
