Who else is making vacay plans for a Polynesian island ?

Yes it's a digital animation. I know I know. But there are Polynesian islands that actually looks digital it's so stunningly colorful. After watching these amazing visuals and freezing my keister off here in NYC. I'm ready to visit Hawaii Tahiti Bora Bora who cares! Lol The movie was such a beautiful visual masterpiece it actually has me a grown man and father of three ready to book a vacation to a Polynesian island based off this fictional animaton lol

It was a perfectly timed release, don't you think? Just when the weather is turning cold in the northern part of the world and the trees and ground are bare because it hasn't snowed yet, a story based in a tropical setting is bound to pull you away.

reply

Maybe I'm a sucker for anything warm being from the Northeast lol

I need to get the funds first. Tahiti looks beautiful. I might go to islands owned by America so I do not need a passport and visa. On a side note New Zealand would also be a Polynesian island worth seeing.

reply

Bora Bora is about 4-5 grand from NYC just for airline tickets for two people so yes totally understand where you are coming from lol

reply

To start, places like Hawaii and American Samoa are not "owned by America" as if they were resorts that exist only to entertain people. They are part of the country and should be referred to as such Also, getting a passport is not that hard. You just fill out a form, show some ID, turn over your pictures, and pay the fee. It took me 20 minutes at the local library.

reply

You are correct. My wording was not the est. They are part of America.

Not so easy for a single mom with joint custody from a dad who has no desire to be involved. Lots of hoops to jump through. Just putting it out there. (It also costs a pretty penny too)

reply

Hawaii, maybe - although the fact that we fought a Civil War that basically told all states they were not allowed to leave effectively makes Hawaii, much like all the other states, property of the US. But American Samoa is most definitely owned by the US.

watching this reminded me of Hawai'i, was there a year ago (for the second time)
btw the water animation in this was outstanding

I would suggest western Samoa, Niue or the Cook Islands. All really beautiful. Also New Zealand is always a good time, you just wouldn't get to see as much because its quite a bit bigger then the other islands.

Having visited New Zealand (2003, three months) and Hawaii (2009, a two-week holiday) I fully understand how you feel. I've always wanted to return and this film reminded me of all the wonderful places I've been privileged enough to visit during my stay in NZ and the holiday in Hawaii.

Bali in Indonesia literally is 'The Island of the Gods', but its Balinese Hinduism has nothing to do with Polynesian culture.

reply

That's a lot of why I wanted to see this movie on the big screen, because of my love of the islands! Been to Hawaii, Oahu, and Maui; still need to see Kauai and Lanai. And yes - need to save and plan for Bora Bora or Tahiti and Australia and New Zealand. The movie was stunningly beautiful. Book that vacation! :-)

Go to the Cook Islands to an Island called Aitutaki
