Oscars

If "How Far I'll Go" receives an Oscar nomination I'm really hoping that Auli'i Cravalho gets to perform it live. I would really love to hear her give a live performance of it. I know that sometimes the original artist is passed over for the pop singer who sang the main cover version of the song and I'm really hoping that doesn't happen in this case. Alessia Cara did a decent cover but I'm someone who tends to favor the original versions of songs the majority of the time and I would much rather see Auli'i do a live performance of it.

The actress/singer was so good I would be sad if they didn't let her do it.

I love the way you laugh.

I could understand if she couldn't considering her age and how it would interfere with school and all. I just think it would be a mistake to not offer her the chance first.

I would love to see Auli'i Cravalho perform "How Far I'll Go" at the Oscars. I also preferred her version of the song over Alessia Cara's pop version.

Most of the award predictions sites have How Far I'll Go pegged for an Oscar nomination at the very least. It would be wonderful to hear a live performance by Auli'i Cravalho. You could hear the emotion in her voice in the film, and it made my heart swell! (Something that was missing from the cover version, imho.)

On that note, has anyone seen La La Land? Many critics are predicting that City of Stars will win the Oscar for Best Original Song. Personally, I thought the film was visually mesmerising but the songs were somewhat... underwhelming? I'd prefer the Oscar went to a song in Moana. Your thoughts?
