The whole scene with him refusing to hear Kevin's confession didn't make sense. We're supposed to believe that it's gotten so "personal" that he doesn't want to hear what actually happened? It's not like Kevin was asking for immunity. O'Bannon can prove they lied and implicate John but that doesn't cover the rest of the family's involvement. I guess I feel there had to have been a more natural way to get Kevin's character desperate and scared enough to kill Kevin.

I was thinking the same thing. It all felt very sudden and contrived. A weakish point, in an otherwise excellent show.

Half of the interviews he conducted with Kevin and Meg would be inadmissible anyway. John's lawyers would have a field day with how many times Marco brought up being cheated on by Meg in the interviews. Horrible writing.

but the other half are good and besides that, he was looking for proof elsewhere and probably didn't need the interviews to prove them guilty. again marco's bad interviews does not equal bad writing. cops conduct bad interviews all the time.

Guess there's not enough time to squeeze in more scenes for Marco to be written off the show.
I like Marco though...😞

It made sense to me.

He had worked out that John did it, and knew that Kevin and Meg had covered it up. O'Bannon was coming in to testify, so he didn't need Kevin. He was sick of the whole family at this point and wanted to nail them all.

Kevin's stupidity in wanting to confess was somewhat more unbelievable, but actually fits with his character too... a history of massive boneheaded plays.

Working it out doesn't mean anything. He needs to PROVE it. All Eric and the video proved that John and the others lied. That's not concrete evidence. Eric didn't even see John kill Danny.

I get Marco's feeling. but he really didn't have nearly as much as he thought. All the evidence was circumstantial. He could ruin John's career and get them on obstruction, but thats really it.

There was a little more than that.

O’Bannon saw Danny right before the meeting with John.

The video shows when O’Bannon left and when John and the other siblings arrived and left.

Plus, O’Bannon knew Danny was transporting drugs through the property and John had admitted as much to the officers. This gives John a motive.

All of these things presented before a Jury could be enough to convict. Granted, it would be litigated. But John and the siblings would have a hard time forming a defense since they were all caught on video during those times.

Personally I didnt like Marco, but I was shocked at Kevin killing him. Crazy scene. Kevin plays the role perfectly

Marco's character was so tightly wound, it felt like this was when he burst.
Meg had broken his heart and John was attempting to end his career. At this point, he had already been saying things like "What's the deal with your family?" to John and Meg - and had said several times that the whole family had been guilty of lies and cover ups. At this point, I think he also suspected that the whole family really WAS involved with the drug dealing... he thinks they are capable of anything.

He had also been drinking - so Kevin walked in at a really bad time.

It was a great scene.

For me it worked fine. But I thoght of something else: Do all investigations of a person go away anywere when this person dies? What is with the protocol with his notes "Meeting John and Danny?" and with the security cam material that Marco knew of?
Anyway - a great show with great cast. loved the south/carebbean/mystery feeling.
