Maybe I missed something but I don't understand why the five people were made into angels when the "meteor" aka the Devil (I'm assuming) hit the Earth. I think it's strange him arriving created angels...unless he is going to use them for his own agenda? Also confused about the girl who was shot in the beginning and the role she is currently playing...anyone have any ideas?
Who was the "Hoodie Kid" who shot her? Not a robbery attempt. He said "His name is Death, and Hell follows with him". Is he another Messenger from 7 years ago? Guessing they will explain later when they explain why she was shot.
Well your confusion is kind of the whole point, it's clearly part of the mystery as to why these people are involved in the apocalypse, and whether they are actual angels, or just working as some kind of avatars for higher powers, etc. I'm sure we'll get the answers to those major questions in the next couple of episodes.
Speaking of, I'm actually really glad this show has a lot of mystery to it. Lately it seems like all pilots want to spell out the entire mythology for you in the pilot and define exactly what the show will be, and it seems like it's been years a show like this has had the balls to expect you to follow along if you want answers.

I understand confusion is supposed to happen...I guess I just don't get why "Lucifer" or whoever that may be (clearly he's evil) coming down to Earth directly impacted these five people and turned them into angels. If they are supposed to be good, you would think he wouldn't have wanted that to happen which is why I'm wondering if he is trying to control them (like he tried to do with the scientist by telling her to kill that woman) to do his bidding. I'm just trying to figure out if HE himself created them when he landed or if they were created by another force i.e. God as a response to his descent to Earth.
Where have you been? The one and only Abrahamic God has always been evil. All you have to do is pick up a copy of the Bible or the Quran to see examples of this pretty quickly.
Well as of right now my personal theory is that they didn't need to be awakened until Lucifer arrived on earth anyway, and that the impact of his landing just awoke them to do the job they need to do. The promos clearly state their job is to stop to devil so I'm thinking he didn't intentionally wake them. Yet he knows who they are so we'll have to wait and see.
