shareDoes stubbornness and close-mindedness count? I am non religious, seriously, but her character is written as an atheist caricature. The premise of the show is ridiculous and impossible, sure, but if there was 1 in a trillion chance that the Apocalypse was real (it is supposed to be about all religions yet only draws elements from the Christian Apocalypse? That's a contradiction dear writers, you cannot have things both ways) and saw all these miraculous things happening, I would drop my misplaced skepticism, opened my eyes and admitted that I was freaking wrong.
What's next, she'll think in ep. 3 that she was drugged with LSD and that her mind played tricks and showed her those wings, wings that for some reason they all saw? What, were they all drugged and had the exact same vision? That's entering ridiculousland big time.

I came on here to see if anyone was annoyed with her character. She says something along the lines of believing whats in front of her yet there has been things that happened right in front of her that still doesn't make her believe. If she's not believing by episode 4, I have no hope for this show. =/
I was about to say the same thing. I am an atheist-agnostic myself and don't believe in taking anything on 'faith', but she's WAY past the point of needing to have faith. She's had plenty of concrete proof that some 'greater power' is at work here. At this point, she's just being a stubborn idiot.
shareFor the record, I love the fact that the atheist of the group is every bit as dogmatic and close-minded as the religious people she looks down on. As an atheist myself, nothing annoys me more than militant atheists who feel the need to run around telling religious people how stupid their beliefs are.
Absence of proof is not proof of absence. I believe that the existence of God is HIGHLY unlikely, but I won't rule it out. If other people want to believe in the highly unlikely and it brings them peace, more power to them. Live and let live.
