Sad. I liked this show.

Funny, I'm a comfortable atheist (raised Roman Catholic) and I didn't see this as a "Christian" show.

I know enough hard core Christians who would never watch this show and would hate it if they did because of the writers creative use of story telling. It's not their story.

I actually like this show. It takes one of the oldest and scariest fiction tales that so many believe is non-fiction and does a nice spin on it.

And I must say that Diogo Morgado is quite the handsome devil.

If you peruse IMDb very often you will see there are a lot of "uncomfortable atheists" who attempt to tear down any show or film that has even the slightest hint of a religious theme. I was raised in a strict Baptist home (my father was a preacher at the small church I was brought up in) but I certainly no longer conform to my religious upbringing and consider myself agnostic -- I still have a curiosity about how other people believe though, and try to not disrespect anyone's choice of religious beliefs. I think many of these "atheists" must be so insecure in their attempts to distance themselves from any religion that they lash out in an anonymous public forum against all things religious. Very strange dynamics in play.

I agree with you about hard core Christians -- they would never want any part of this show and would consider it a blasphemy.

Yet Supernautral still exists on the air lol

^ and is watched by many of these "hardcore Christians" that you all speak so highly of! ? At least as far as me and my friends go...and the other millions of fans around the world...gotta be some believers in there somewhere statistically speaking.

Hell, as an agnostic myself, I've always considered the Bible (bash me all you want folks, I don't give a <bleep>) a work of at least partial fiction. With all the "reboots" lately, I just took this at face value: an attempt to tell a good story (as all film and tv should be treated) and I enjoyed it. As viewers, we need to remember, it's not just about award-winners, but what we enjoy.

And borisb800:

they don't restrict themselves to Christianity, exploring creatures/mythos from all types of different theologies. But they keep an overall season storythread with individual variant episodes tying it all together... true, the last few seasons have been a bit more Christianity slanted overall, but individual episodes vary. They even did an episode a few seasons back with all the gods/heads of pantheons meeting to decide which mythos' version of the end of the world they should actually use. (I think it was Buddha) saying "Don't make fun of my World Turtle!" still makes me laugh

Religion should be cancelled, true.
Think of all those happy faces relieved from useless fears of harsh gods and malicious devils.
Being a lifelong atheist I'll sign the petition right away so we can start to see what humanity really is, even though we might not always like the outcome, at least we've got ourselves to blame.
But religion as this fail-safe for our own misbehavior is so like an ostrich, humanity unworthy.
